Who we are
Price Matters is a hobby beta that compares public grocery prices from Australian supermarkets. This notice explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
When you create an account we collect your name and email address. We use them to run your account and to send the price-alert emails you ask for.
We do not ask you to connect any supermarket account, and we do not collect your in-store shopping history.
Google sign-in (optional)
You can optionally sign in or link with Google. When you do, we receive your name, email address, whether that email is verified, and your Google account ID. We store no Google access or refresh tokens on our servers.
You can email hello@pricematters.com.au to unlink Google from your account or to ask us to delete your account.
Price Matters' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Price data
Product names and prices are public retailer catalogue data. They are not your personal information.
How we use it
We use your name and email to sign you in, to keep your watches and lists, and to email you when a watched price drops. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Service providers
Alert email is sent through Resend. The service is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Those providers process information only so we can run Price Matters. Google is an optional sign-in source as described above.
Australian Privacy Principles
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing the address below.
